Stained Glass

My friend, song writer, and singer, Michael A.Curtis wrote and sings a song titled, Stained Glass.
One of the lines is no matter what side of the wall we are one we are all stained glass.

I agree we are all stained glass until God forgives those stains, and I would like to share with you an experience I had last week.

Last Monday I called FloBama in Florence Alabama to make a reservation to go watch my friends from the group ThreeWheelDrive perform, they were going to be playing on Thursday night.

I woke up Thursday morning with the song Stained Glass on my mind. It kept haunting me as the day went on so I messaged Michael and asked him to sing it that night.

We have a homeless guy who we call Bones, I have known him some 15 years or so now. We have been working on him to get him to listen to us about God, and that He would forgive all his sins. You see Bones has led a rough life, and actually if you don’t know him he would scare you to death with all of the tattoos he has all over his body, and the scowl he has looking at you.

Recently he and Angie had a one on one talk in our van, and she and he were both shedding tears, I truly believe that was the break through point to reach him.

Bone had covered for the woman he loved and wound up back in jail, we found out and began an email correspondence with him.

What does all of this have to do with a song request?

Michael sang Stained Glass and within ten minutes of him ending the song Angie received an email from Bones, I am giving my life to God. She sat there in tears as she read and reread that email.

The next night at 11:00 Angie and I were outside the jail as Bone was released, he got on his knees and prayed, then told us he was going to take his life Thursday night, but God stopped him.

We were there that Sunday as he made the confession and was baptized, he was stained glass no more.

He is going to reach out to others, about his life, his trials, and his God. We wish him well in his future working for the Lord in whatever way He sees fit to use him.

Now I know why I woke up with that song on my mind…God was letting me know that blessings were on the way for my friend Bones…
