Touch

“If you want to touch the past, touch a rock. If you want to touch the present, touch a flower. If you want to touch the future, touch a life.” – Unknown

Nothing that we do as Homeless Advocates is easy, nothing.

There are days when you get frustrated, mad, and angry, those days make you want to bang your head on the wall, but at the end of the day we still love them.

The phone rings at night, during our alone time, or early in the morning before you wake up, you see, they have no sense of time in their world.

Then there are those you invest a lot of time into, knowing in your heart that they can better their life, and you receive that call that they have done something stupid, and will spend years in prison.

About the time you want to toss your hands up and say no more a Catfish or Wes come into your life, and each and every moment that you spend with them you see a transformation.

This is God at work, we are playing a small part in it, as He allows us to.

Catfish was special to us and still is. We walked with him throughout his stay in the woods, through a surgery, to getting off the streets, and finding a full time job.

Wes went from drug dealing, to selling drugs, to relying on alcohol to get by on a daily basis. Wes has been clean almost 19 months now, is working steadily, and will be moving off the streets after the first of June.

God at work…touching the future…touching lives
