“It is a sin to despise one’s neighbor, but blessed is the one who is kind to the needy. Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.”
Often the question pops up, but who is my neighbor?
Is it the person living next door, or just down the road, is it family, or stranger?
The answer is every person!
In the scripture Jesus spoke about the Good Samaritan. A man who stopped to help a man who was beaten and left for dead. AFTER a Priest and a Levite walked past him without offering to help.
We have become a nation of being in a rush, no time to slow down, to help someone.
I am so blessed to be a part of our Hearts family, our members give, and give, and give some more. They are always ready to answer our calls to help our homeless friends, people that most of them don’t know, nor have ever seen.
THIS is what God expects us to do, it’s not our job on earth to judge, it is our job to help anyone in need. GOD will sort out and judge.
The next time you see that man or woman that needs a hand, help them. Not with money, give them a $5.00 gift card from a local restaurant, or give them a cup of coffee or a sandwich. IF they refuse food, walk away. YOU have done what God expects of you!
Make it point tomorrow to rise and say today is the day…I will help someone in need…for this is pleasing to God…
